Creepy News & Scary News
Looking for scary news from around the world? This is the place to find it. We scour the web for the interesting stories and creepy news that will keep you up at night, make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, and get you thinking dark thoughts. In the past, we’ve covered everything from the Camden child murders in 2012 to the Slender Man killings of 2014.
We monitor murders, disappearances, suicides, and all of the other scary news stories that we can find. If you want to sleep soundly at night; if you don’t want to wake up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat panicked and fearful – we urge you to think carefully about reading some of these extremely creepy news items.
Please note – some of the news items that we have on this page are not suitable for children. Our writers are not journalists – we merely write about the macabre, creepy and unsettling news stories that we encounter. Many of our scary news stories may also act as triggers, so you can officially consider this a trigger warning – we take no responsibility if some of the gruesome crimes and mysterious circumstances in the news items we write about give you nightmares, cause you stress, or keep you up at night.
Play With Death is putting together an anthology of the best crowdsourced Horror short stories and we want you to be part of it. This is the first time we’re trying something like this, so we’re open to stories on any subject as long as it is really damn scary.
We’re looking to showcase the best up and coming horror writers, and this is a great way for an unpublished writer to get their work out there. We want to read stories that will keep us up at night – works of fiction that will make us want to sleep with all the lights on.
We’re keeping this contest open ended – we want you to submit your best material. For this reason, stories can be entirely realistic or involve supernatural elements – our goal is to put out an ebook with works from some of the best undiscovered horror writers on the web. All we ask is that you follow our submission guidelines.
Publication is planned for early 2015.
Please review our Complete Submissions Guidelines below. Feel free to contact us here on the site with any questions with a message to [email protected]
